Employee training - Iowa's unique job training programs can provide any training services required by a business for new employees. Training services can be customized and, by combining resources from Iowa's New Jobs Training Program and the Job Training Partnership Act, the amount of funding available for training can be stretched. The Iowa New Jobs Training Program provides funds for:
The program is paid for by the revenues generated by a firm's investment in Iowa, specifically, from the company's portion of the new employees' withholding tax. These taxes, that the company would normally pay over a ten-year period, are diverted to pay for the up-front training. The up-front training is reimbursed through the sale of certificates (bonds) which are secured by these taxes. The Job Training Partnership Act is a federally funded training program. The program provides on-the job training reimbursement of 50% of each eligible new workers' wages during the training period. These funds are available in addition to the above Iowa New Jobs Training Program reimbursements.
